Jo Ande Bongo Dikkanen is from Nesseby which is located the innermost part of Norway’s easternmost fjord, Varangerfjord. Jo Ande is a young fisherman and has been fishing since 2017. In 2019 he bought his own boat “Bergebyjenta” which is 31 feet. In Nesseby it is a good environment for fishermen, and it was very natural for him to choose to become a fisherman. Jo Ande have fish quata for small vessels and fishes with yarn, longline and pots. Jo Ande loves to be a fisherman and thinks he has a free life, but there is also a lot of work. When it’s winter, cold and stiff breeze, fishing is a job. When the sun is shining and there is no wind, fishing is a hobby. Jo Ande also works on the family farm which has sheep farming. He likes to stay fit, so he prefers cross country skiing or bike.
